Vibration Engineer collects and analyses machinery condition monitoring data and present improvement opportunities to the Process and Maintenance Teams. The principal objective is to prevent unforeseen failures. This is achieved through a routine survey of on-line and off-line equipment condition, collation, analysis and interpretation of condition indicating data and recommending proactive maintenance action plan. He provides technical support for lubrication activities to ensure that effective and efficient strategies and procedures are in place to properly maintain the rotating and machinery in the process and utility units.
The Vibration Engineer is reporting to the Inspection and Corrosion Manager.
An Oil Refinery Located in Mostorod Area, Cairo, EGYPT, with capacity 140,000 BPD, Operates different units as NHT, CCR, DHT, HCU, HPU, VDU, DCU, DEU, Sour Water Stripping Unit, Amine Treatment and Regeneration Unit, Utilities, Sulfur Recovery Unit, and TGU.
Execute Condition Monitoring (CM) checks on a routine scheduled basis. This include visual checks, vibration data collection, infrared data collection, ultrasonic data collection, motor current and flux data collection, simple NDT data collection.
Analyse and trend predictive maintenance data (vibration, IR, etc) to determine plant condition and report this condition for action.
Generate work requests in the CMMS as required for maintenance planning and scheduling.
Document results and generate reports on all monitoring activities.
Follow up with Plant area personnel to ensure problems identified are corrected in a time that prevents equipment and process failure.
Support the Predictive Maintenance Specialist on rotating equipment balancing.
Work with Lubrication Technicians to incorporate lube oil analysis data to determine equipment condition.
Support the Reliability Engineers and Rotating Equipment specialist during troubleshooting of equipment problems.
Use Engineering principles during technical analysis of maintenance issues.
Participate in audits and reviews of the condition monitoring function to identify actions for continuous improvement.
Liaise with production department to collect actual process data and determine areas susceptible to degradation based on change in process parameters and chemistry.
Experience in the application of vibration monitoring devices and CM methods including fault detection and diagnosis.
Experience in the Rotating and Machinery maintenance in oil and gas industry.
Knowledge of maintenance principles.
Knowledge of Predictive maintenance.
Good knowledge of computers skills
English language speaks and written
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Position requires 5-8 Years of experience in vibration and condition monitoring of plant rotating equipment. Experience in refinery and petrochemical processes, people supervision and contracts administration is also required.
TYPE OF EDUCATION: must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
